网易辞退重病员工,你怎么看?

这两天,网易公司突然成为关注的焦点。而这件事的起因来自一篇自称“网易前员工”的微信文章。其内容也在网上引发轩然大波。针对该前职工反映的遭遇,网易日前做出道歉,承认处理事件时存在“简单粗暴、不近人情等诸多行为”。
China’s internet and game company NetEase apologized for firing an employee even though he had an “incurable disease,” admitting that those who dealt with the incident were “simple, brash and impersonal.”
中国互联网和游戏公司网易为解雇一名患有“不治之症”的员工表示道歉,承认处理此事的人“简单、鲁莽、没有人情味”。
Last Saturday, a former Net-Ease employee posted a story on a WeChat account, claiming that he was forced to leave the company after he was diagnosed with serious heart disease in late January with the excuse of “poor performance”.
上周六,一篇名为《网易裁员,让保安把身患绝症的我赶出公司,我在网易亲身经历的噩梦》的文章在社交媒体上广泛传播,文章作者表示,自己是网易游戏的员工,今年1月底的时候被确诊患有严重的心脏疾病,不过却因为“业绩不佳”被强迫离职。
The employee, who didn’t give any personal information about himself, said in the story that NetEase informed him of being unqualified for the job in late March because of his "poor work performance" in the past half year, which he disputed.
这位员工并没有透露过多个人信息,他在文章中表示3月底的时候,公司表示由于他在过去半年中绩效不佳,所以不再适合当前工作。对此,他表示不能认同。
He said that his request for economic compensation for being laid off and a performance-based bonus for projects he was involved in was also refused by the company.
他要求因为被离职而获得经济补偿,以及要求为此前参与的项目获得绩效奖励,但是都被公司回绝。
The former employee also said he experienced surveillance and was menaced in the office when he refused to resign. He was eventually forced to leave the company in September. He said NetEase had promised to pay him compensation before Sept 9. When they did not pay, he applied for labor arbitration on Sept 17 and received compensation totaling 240,000 yuan.
他还表示,由于自己拒绝辞职,遭到了公司的监视和威胁,并最终在9月份被迫离职。他说网易曾承诺在9月9日前支付他赔偿金。承诺没有兑现时,他于9月17日申请了劳动仲裁,并得到总计24万元赔偿金。
The employee inserted an audio recording in his article as evidence of his bad treatment.
同时,文章中还有变声处理的音频作为其受到恶劣对待的证据。
The letter sparked huge reaction on social media, and the hashtag “NetEase” was viewed 610 million. Many netizens criticized the company for its inhumane treatment employees.
这篇文章在社交媒体上引发强烈反响,截至26日15时,网易道歉相关话题阅读量超6.1亿次,很多网友批评网易对待员工不人道。
NetEase released a statement on Monday. NetEase said it received the request for dismissal from the former employee’s supervisor, who said his work performance was “unsatisfactory.” The supervisor didn’t fully understand the employee’s health situation, the statement said.
11月25日,网易发布声明,对整个事件进行了说明。网易表示“今年3月底,这位前同事的主管因绩效原因向其提出解除劳动合同,文章展示的‘业绩排名’,实际为工作量排名,不完全反映工作质量。经复核,其绩效确不合格。此时,该主管并没有充分尽责地了解其患病情况。”
The company said it had paid the man on time during his three-month sick leave. However, employees from the company’s human resources department failed to handle the man’s departure from the company in a proper way. “We apologize for the simple and crude, unsympathetic approaches and behavior in the process of his dismissal. Sorry, we were wrong,” the statements said.
“在他申请的3个月病假期间,公司按时发放了病假工资,并在今年9月19日,一次性给予其N+1的补偿,但反思我们的沟通和处理过程,相关人员确实存在简单粗暴、不近人情等等诸多不妥行为。对此,我们向这位前同事和他的家人,以及因此受到影响的同事和公众致歉——对不起,我们做错了。”
NetEase said that it will pay the man 12 months basic salary and provide other assistance he might require.
此外,网易表示“在N+1补偿的基础上,我们将在其离职后的12个月内,继续额外每月无条件提供等同于其月基本工资的关怀金。接下来,我们将继续尝试和他进行积极有效的沟通,推进事件妥善处理,也愿意为这位前同事提供一切可行的援助。”
同一天,网易也针对此事发布内部声明,详细说明事件流程:
