绘本故事 | Winnie the Witch

本期带来的绘本是Winnie the Witch《女巫温妮》。
Winnie 是一名女巫，和她的小黑猫 Wilbur 生活在一个黑漆漆的大房子里。在没看清楚的情况下，Winnie会一屁股的往小黑猫身上坐下去，于是她挥动魔棒，把黑猫变成彩色猫！
Winnie the Witch lived in a black house in the forest.
The house was black on the outside and black on the inside.
女巫温妮住在森林里一栋黑色的大房子里。
这栋房子从里到外都是黑色的。
The carpets were black.
The chairs were black.
地毯是黑色的。
椅子是黑色的。
The bed was black and it had black sheets and black blankets.
Even the bath was black.
床是黑色的，床单和毯子也是黑色的。
甚至浴缸也是黑色的。
Winnie lived in her black house with her cat,Wilbur.
He was black too. And that is how the trouble began.
温妮和她的猫咪威尔伯一起住在这栋黑色的房子里。
威尔伯也是黑色的，所以问题来了。
When Wilbur sat on a chair with his eyes open,
Winnie could see him. She could see his eyes, anyway.
当威尔伯趴在椅子上时，如果它眼睛是睁开的，
温妮就能看见它，至少她还能看到它的眼睛。
But when Wilbur closed his eyes and went to sleep,
Winnie couldn’t see him at all. So she sat on him.
但如果威尔伯的眼睛闭着睡觉，
那温妮可就看不清了。她会一屁股坐在威尔伯的身上。
When Wilbur sat on the carpet with his eyes open,
Winnie could see him. She could see his eyes, anyway.
当威尔伯趴在地毯上时，如果它眼睛是睁开的，
温妮就能看见它，至少她还能看到它的眼睛。
But when Wilbur closed his eyes and went to sleep,
Winnie couldn’t see him at all. So she tripped over him.
但如果威尔伯的眼睛闭着睡着了，
那温妮可就看不清了。她会一下绊倒在威尔伯的身上。
One day, after a nasty fall,
Winnie decided something had to be done.
有一天，在一次重重摔跤之后，
温妮想着一定要改变点什么。
She picked up her magic wand,
waved it once and ABRACADABRA!
她举起魔杖，
挥动着念咒“ABRACADABRA!”
Wilbur was a black cat no longer.
He was bright green!
威尔伯不再是一只黑色猫了。
它变成了荧光绿色！
Now, when Wilbur slept on a chair, Winnie could see him.
When Wilbur slept on the floor, Winnie could see him.
现在，当威尔伯睡在椅子上时，温妮能看见它。
当威尔伯睡在地板上时，温妮能看见它。
And she could see him when he slept on the bed.
But, Wilbur was not allowed to sleep on the bed...
温妮还能看到威尔伯躺在床上。
但是，威尔伯是不允许睡在床上的......
...so Winnie put him outside.
Outside in the grass.
...所以温妮把威尔伯丢到了屋外。
丢到了屋外的草丛里。
Winnie came hurrying outside,
tripped over Wilbur,
turned three somesaults,
and fell into a rose bush.
可是温妮急急忙忙走出门的时候，
又绊倒在了威尔伯身上，
连翻了三个跟斗，
摔在了玫瑰花丛里。
When Wilbur sat outside in the grass,
Winnie couldn’t see him, even when his eyes were wide open.
当威尔伯坐在屋外的草地里，
即使它的眼睛睁得再大，温妮也看不见它。
This time, Winnie was furious.
She picked up her magic wand,
waved it five times and...
这下，温妮可发大火了。
她捡起魔杖，
连续挥舞了五次...
...Abracadabra!
...Abracadabra！
Wilbur had a red head,
a yellow body, a pink tail,
blue whiskers, and four purple legs.
But his eyes were still green.
威尔伯现在拥有一个大红色的脑袋，
黄色的身体，粉红色的尾巴，
蓝色的胡须，还有四条紫色的腿。
但他的眼睛依然是绿色的。
Now, Winnie could see Wilbur
when he sat on a chair,
when he lay on the carpet,
when he crawled into the grass.
And even when he climbed to the top of the tallest tree.
现在，温妮任何时候都能看见威尔伯了
无论它是趴在椅子上，
睡在地摊上，
还是蜷缩在草丛里。
甚至当它爬上最高的树顶，她还是能看见。
Wilbur climbed to the top of the tallest tree to hide.
He looked ridiculous and he knew it.
威尔伯爬到最高的树顶上去躲藏。
它知道自己看上去非常可笑。
Even the birds laughed at him.
Wilbur was miserable.
即便是鸟儿们也在嘲笑它。
威尔伯很伤心。
He stayed at the top of the tree all day and all night.
Next morning Wilbur was still up the tree.
Winnie was worried.
She loved Wilbur and hated him to be miserable.
它在树顶上待了一天一夜。
第二天早上，威尔伯仍旧在树上。
温妮很担心。
她很爱威尔伯，不希望看到它伤心。
Then Winnie had an idea.
She waved her magic wand and Abracadabra!
然后温妮想到了一个好主意。
她挥动起魔杖，“Abracadabra！”
Wilbur was a black cat once more.
Then Winnie waved her wand again, and again, and again.
Abracadabra!
威尔伯又变回了一只黑猫。
然后温妮不停地挥动着她的魔杖。
“Abracadabra!”
Now instead of a black house,
she had a yellow house with a red roof and a red door.
现在，大房子不再是黑色的了，
温妮现在拥有一座黄色的大房子，有着红色的屋顶和红色的门。
The chairs were white with red and white cushions.
The carpet was green with pink roses.
椅子是白色的，上面放着红白条纹的靠垫。
地毯是绿色底子印着粉红色的玫瑰花。
The bed was blue, with pink and white sheets and pink blankets.
The bath was a gleaming white.
床变成了蓝色，铺着白色床单和粉红色毯子。
白色浴缸闪着隐隐的光。
And now, Winnie can see Wilbur no matter where he sits.
现在，不管威尔伯待在哪儿，温妮都能看见它了。
