Kari and her mom went for a hike in the woods.
They followed a path along a creek.
As they walked, Kari heard a noise in the bushes.
She grabbed Mom's hand and said,
“I'm scared.”
卡丽和她的妈妈徒步去森林。
她们沿着小溪旁的小道往前走。
路上，卡丽听到灌木丛中有动静。
她抓住了妈妈的手说：“好可怕。”
“It's OK,” Mom said. “Look over there.”
Kari smiled as she watched a deer
leaping through the brush.
“没事的”，妈妈说。“你看看那。”
当卡丽看到一只小鹿从灌木丛中跳出来时，她笑了。
Mom found a good spot for their picnic.
Kari helped take out the sandwiches, juice, and apples
from Mom's backpack.
妈妈找到了一个很适合野餐的地方。
卡丽帮着从妈妈的背包里拿出了三明治、橙汁和苹果。
“Are you hungry?” asked Mom.
Kari nodded. “Yes, I'm hungry.”
“你饿了吗？”妈妈问。
卡丽点点头。“是的，我饿了。”
After a while, a cool wind blew.
Kari shivered and said, “I'm cold.”
Mom gave her a sweater to put on.
“Is that better?” she asked.
Kari said, “Yes, much better.”
不一会儿，一阵凉风吹过。
卡丽抖了抖，说：“有点冷。”
妈妈递给她一件毛衣让她穿上。
“感觉好点了吗？”她说。
卡丽说：“是的，感觉好多了。”
On the way back, Kari saw the deer eating grass.
She said, “The deer is hungry.”
“Yes, he is hungry,” said Mom.
“He has a picnic in the woods every day.”
在回来的路上，卡丽看到鹿在吃草。
她说：“这只鹿一定是饿了。”
“是的，它饿了”，妈妈说。
“它每天都会在森林中野餐。”
