About a year ago, I was diagnosed with cancer.

一年前 我被诊断出患了癌症

I had a scan at 7.30 in the morning

早上7点半 我做了一个扫描

and it clearly showed a tumour on my pancreas.

它清楚地显示出我的胰腺上长了个瘤

My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order,

医生建议我回家去处理好各项事宜

which is doctor’s code for “prepare to die”.

It turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery.

结果我得的是一种罕见的胰腺癌 它是可以通过手术治愈的

I had the surgery and thankfully I'm fine now.

我做了手术 很庆幸 我现在好了

In reality, Jobs would continue his struggle with cancer for the next six years.

His diagnosis had a profound impact.

Death is very likely the single best invention of life.
